Our team

Our team consists of a team of experienced data scientists, young talent and a flexible non-core team of specialists. They all have in-depth knowledge of and extensive experience with applying data analytics in organizations in a wide range of industries. They will help you become a more data-driven and successful organization.

Colin Nugteren

Colin is the first Chief Analytics Officer in the Netherlands. He has a strong fascination with data, analytics and visualizations that help make hidden patterns visible. While studying econometrics, he was surprised by the fact that the powerful algorithms were only available to the really big companies. It provided the motivation for his first startup. By applying analytics in IT in every part of the organization, it would become the best company in the field of payments and collection transactions. Colin travels all over the world to deliver presentations about analytics, data science and specialized robots that help improve operational processes.

Tom Dogger

Tom Dogger is the co-founder of Notilyze. His aim is to offer data analytics as a service to companies regardless of their size or the industry in which they operate. Tom has a background in econometrics and operations research and has extensive experience in applying data analytics in various industries, from mobility and transport to the energy sector. For Tom, a solution is only complete when the customer fully understands the solution, is able to work with it independently and it is embedded within the processes and routines of the organization.

Experience stories

Milan is currently doing an internship at Notilyze, this is his experience:

My internship is in the sphere of marketing, so at first I thought my focus would mainly be on a company in that sector, but I am happy that I came in contact with Notilyze. The marketing was still in its infancy and this offered a great challenge, both for me and for Notilyze. I started here without real knowledge about this subject, but thanks to the good guidance this was quickly resolved. I learned a lot about the things Notilyze do and managed to become part of the team, despite my different background.

It is very pleasant to work at Notilyze, because you are really taken seriously, you are seen as part of the team and your opinion really counts. In addition, the working atmosphere is also very pleasant, most of the time everyone works hard and serious, but there is also time for relaxation. The result of this is that communication within the team runs smoothly, you don’t have to be shy to approach someone with a question or idea.

I would recommend Notilyze as an internship, because you get the opportunity and the resources to develop yourself. They offer sufficient support where you need this, but you also get enough freedom and opportunities to contribute your own ideas. In addition, you also get enough time and space to work on the assignments you need to do for your studies, they are even willing to help you with this. This makes Notilyze a very nice place to do your internship!

Lotte is currently doing an internship at Notilyze, this is her experience:

“I chose Notilyze because of the challenging final assignment they had and because of the ambitious and driven atmosphere. I have always been interested in data-driven consultancy and I enjoy working in a start-up with great career opportunities. I am having a good time here: there is a relaxed atmosphere, but we also work hard when needed. In addition, my colleagues are always open to sparring together about my internship assignment, which is very nice and helpful. If you are looking for a graduate internship with a challenging final assignment within a close group, then Notilyze is exactly what you are looking for!”

Paul is currently graduating at Notilyze, this is his experience:

I have been working at Notilyze for a year and a half now, first as a working student and I enjoyed it so much that I decided to do my graduation here. As a working student I received challenging assignments that fit well with what I had learned during my pre-Master’s in Econometrics. And those times that it did not fit well, I learned a lot. In my first project I was directly involved in the entire process; from formulating the question and the purpose of the client, via data preparation to come up with a suitable solution and its presentation. In my data preparation I had to learn how I could convert a JSON file in SAS into useful charts. A inquisitive attitude is therefore handy, but then you will learn skills that will benefit your further career. In this process I was given some tools, but in addition there was a lot of freedom to test my own ideas. Of course this freedom goes hand in hand with responsibility; you are not being watched all day, but at the end of the day a product must be made. This attitude, which fits well with a start-up, is also reflected in the policy. There is enough flexibility, which means that you do not have to be in the office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. This is not necessary either; everyone wants to help Notilyze move forward, which means that in your enthusiasm you will quickly spend more hours doing things than you might have imagined. But this also fits with a start-up, in my opinion. That’s why the choice was easy for me when I was given the opportunity to graduate here for my Masters in Econometrics. Tom and Colin, the founders, also think it is important to come up with progressive solutions for their customers, which means that both my university supervisor and my supervisor at Notilyze pursue the same goal; a smart application of your acquired knowledge in which a new contribution to the research field is encouraged.

In contrast to many other companies, you can also do your graduation research five days a week here. On the other hand it is important that you do like a challenge, are not afraid of being thrown into the deep end and you are eager to learn. Then Notilyze is the right place for you!
